Replacing the cassette
Tools Required: Standard Screwdriver, Phillips Screwdriver, Pliers, 6mm Wrench or Crescent Wrench
- Unplug the electricity.
- Disconnect the vent pipe and lift slightly on the front of the unit and pull the toilet forward.
- Unscrew the retaining nut from the switch behind the seat and push the switch inside the unit. On the Standard model, the shear pin must be removed by tapping it out with a small punch or nail and the handle has to be taken off.

10 Standard - Remove thermostat knob by gently prying upward with a standard screwdriver
- Unscrew the compost cover retaining nut by using a standard screwdriver and turning the nut counter-clockwise. Remove the top by lifting on the front of the top while pushing in on the switch. Once the switch has cleared the hole in the top, lift on the rear of the top. The top may stick slightly due to silicon sealant used in production.

- (Deluxe and XL only ) Remove wire clamp at the top of the cassette by removing 2 Phillips screws.

- (Deluxe and XL only ) Unplug wires to the mixing motor (that were under the clamp removed in last step) from terminal block, noting position of each wire using the chart below.
Note: Needle nose pliers and a slight side-to-side wiggle of the wire may be required as the connectors may fit tightly. DO NOT USE A FORWARD AND BACK WIGGLE. THIS MAY BREAK THE TERMINAL.

- Write the appropriate wire color in the respective block as you remove the wires
- Remove the four Phillips screws holding the cassette

- Remove the nut holding the float switch plate to the float switch rod.
- Remove the cassette by lifting it

- Remove the wire clamp holding the wire that runs to the wall plug.

- Unplug the bottom heater wires from the terminal block and thermostat.
- Remove the wire clamp holding the wire that runs to the bottom heater.
- Unplug the wall plug wires from the terminal block, noting the position of each wire using the chart below.

- Write the appropriate wire color in the respective block as you remove the wires
- Connect the power wires to the terminal block on the new cassette that you removed in step 14.
- Replace the bottom heater wire plugs to the terminal block and thermostat that you removed in step 12.
- Replace the wire clamp holding the bottom heater wire to the cassette that you removed in step 13.
- Replace the wire clamp holding the wire to the wall plug that you removed in step 11.
- Insert the new cassette into the unit base. Screw into place with 4 screws removed in step 8 as well as replace the nut on the float switch plate and rod removed in step 9.
- Connect the wires from the mixer motor to the terminal block that were removed in step 7.
- Replace the wire clamp holding the wires to the mixer motor removed in step 6.
- Put the top back on and connect the nut holding the switch behind the seat. On the Standard model, put the handle back and reinstall the shear pin.
- Plug the unit into a 120VAC outlet and test the operation.
- Put the toilet in place and reconnect the vent pipe.
