  4. Remove thermostat knob by gently prying upward with a standard screwdriver
  5. Unscrew the compost cover retaining nut by using a standard screwdriver and turning the nut counter-clockwise.  Remove the top by lifting on the front of the top while pushing in on the switch. Once the switch has cleared the hole in the top, lift on the rear of the top. The top may stick slightly due to silicon sealant used in production.
  6. Remove wire clamp at the top of the cassette by removing 2 Phillips screws.
  7. Unplug wires to the mixing motor (that were under the clamp removed in last step) from terminal block noting position of each wire using the chart below.

Note: Needle nose pliers and a slight side-to-side wiggle of the wire may be required as the connectors may fit tightly. DO NOT USE A FORWARD AND BACK WIGGLE. THIS MAY BREAK THE TERMINAL.

  11. Remove the cassette by lifting it.
  12. Cut and remove the nylon wire tie around the fan motor wires.

  16. Using a 7mm wrench or crescent wrench remove the 2 nuts holding the motor. Remove the motor.

  17. Reinstall the fan motor using the picture and steps below.

    1. Place 2 spacers over the mounting studs on the motor.
    2. Place the rubber washer over the fan shaft.
    3. Place the mounting studs and shaft through the mounting holes in the cassette with the motor on the same side of the cassette as the terminal block.
    4. Turn cassette over so the mounting studs and shaft are upward.
    5. Slip the flat steel washers onto the studs followed by the locking nuts.
    6. Tighten the locking nuts using your 7mm wrench or crescent wrench. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!
  18. Reinstall the fan blade (white) with the clamped end toward the cassette sliding the hub down till it is ½ inch from the cassette. Note: Lay the cassette on a hard surface and apply pressure to the fan hub. Pressing on the fan blades may break them.

  19. Replace the cassette into the unit base. Screw into place with 4 screws removed in step 9.
  20. Reconnect the fan motor power wires to the terminal block using the chart in step 12.
  21. Reconnect the ground wires (green wires) to the motor that were removed in step 8.
  22. Reconnect the wires from the mixer motor to the terminal block using the chart in step 7.
  23. Replace the wire clamp holding the wires to the mixer motor that you removed in step 6.
