"As you have learned from Dr. Murphy, we are dedicated to helping the next generation become more aware of their connections to nature and live more responsibly. Our Ambassadors of the Environment program is our main outreach to young people and this program is presently being implemented on Catalina Island in California and in Kona, Hawaii. Additional programs are being designed for other sites in California, Florida and the Caribbean."

"Our focus is to show young people how nature works, focus on the sustainable strategies of natural ecosystems and then explore how these principles could apply to human communities. It is very important to demonstrate examples of sustainable living and the BioLet composting toilet was an important component of our program. "I want to thank you for helping us acquire a BioLet composting toilet for our Hawaii Ambassadors of the Environment Program. The program was a huge success with local educators and folks from the native Hawaiian community being particularly impressed with how we extended nature study into the human domain. We had a modular solar hot water heater, PVC system, solar oven, composting bins for garbage, the beginnings of an organic garden and, of great interest to all the students and visitors alike, a composting toilet. We placed it between our two traditional outhouses and the contrast was profound. Predictably no one wanted to use the outhouses, as the BioLet toilet was totally odorless, and we had to rotate its use."

"So, I do appreciate your giving us a price break and I'm hoping as we expand the program we can afford additional units. I'm enclosing some photos of the toilet and our camp setting at the edge of the sea in Kona."
